Silicon manganese alloy is a kind of iron alloy with wide application and high yield. Its index is divided into 6517 and 6014, but many customers need 6818 silicomanganese, which actually refers to 6517. The carbon content of these two indexes should be no higher than 2.5, phosphorus no higher than 0.3 and sulfur no higher than 0.05


In its production, the selection of reasonable slag type is the key link of its process operation, but also an important measure to improve the production technical index. In the production process, reasonable collocation of manganese ore and selection of reasonable slag type can not only obtain high quality products, but also stabilize the normal production of furnace ore. At the same time, improve the production technical indicators, reduce the production cost, fully improve the company's economic benefits.


A manganese ore or several kinds of manganese ore (including manganese rich slag) may be used in its production. In order to ensure the production of qualified products, the ratio of manganese to iron and manganese to phosphorus in ore should meet certain requirements:


Collocation of raw materials:


In order to obtain high quality products, only the products of manganese ore are used in manganese ore. It is unreasonable to take the content as the index. Its production is not only manganese ore, but also other auxiliary materials. Determine the production plan.


Its raw materials are: manganese ore, manganese rich slag, silica, coke.


Calculation formula of general ingredients for manganese content:


Manganese content = furnace manganese ÷ (manganese ore + reducing agent + silica + solvent + other additives))


From the above calculation method, it can be seen that even if the furnace manganese content is high, if more auxiliary materials are added, the furnace manganese content will decrease, which will affect the production quality of the silicon manganese alloy price.


Requirements for each raw material:


1. The impurity P2O5 in manganese ore is lower, and P2O5 increases the phosphorus content in the alloy. The particle size of manganese ore is generally 10-80mm, less than 10mm does not exceed 10% of the total;


2. SiO2≥97% in silica, P2O5 < 0.02, particle size 10-40mm, no soil and debris;


3. Fixed carbon in coke ≥84%, ash ≤14%, coke particle size, generally small and medium-sized electric furnace using 3-13mm, large furnace using 5-25mm;


Its production process is basically the same as that of carbon ferromanganese, but it is more difficult to master the furnace condition than that of carbon ferromanganese. Therefore, the operation needs more careful, correct judgment furnace, timely treatment.


The mark of normal furnace condition is that the electrode insertion depth is appropriate, the charge sinking evenly, the furnace mouth fire evenly, the composition is stable, and the technical and economic indicators are good. Accurate ratio of ingredients is the key to ensure normal furnace condition.


The main problem with the ratio of ingredients is the carbon allocation problem. When the reducing agent in the charge is too much, the conductivity of the charge is enhanced, the current rises, the electrode rises, the crucible shrinks, the defect collapse phenomenon increases, the appearance of the furnace mouth is the same as that of the reducing agent of ferrosilicon too much, because the reducing agent of the charge is too much, the reduction of silica is more, and the silicon content of the alloy is higher. If the reducing agent is too much, the electrode rise is very serious, the furnace bottom temperature is low, and the silicon content in the alloy decreases.


The basicity of slag also has great influence on the smelting of silicon manganese alloy.


The alkalinity is too high, the slag temperature is greatly reduced, the temperature in the furnace is not high, in addition, CaO and SiO2 combined into silicate, these make these combined into silicate, SiO2 recovery is difficult, alloy silicon content can not rise. In addition, the alkalinity is too high, the slag is too thin, the iron takes away more raw materials, the iron outlet is easy to burn, the furnace eye is not easy to plug, the alkalinity is too high is not good.
