Calcia Stabilized Zirconia Crucible Description
Refractory grade zirconia crucibles are made of calcium-stabilised or yttria-stabilised zirconia.
Zirconia crucibles (ZrO2) can withstand high temperatures, they are chemically very inert, highly resistant thermal shock, non-conductive and corrosion resistant to acids and alkalies when compared with porcelain crucibles. Zirconia crucibles are ideal for melting of precious metals and super-alloys, and they will not react with molten aluminium, iron, nickel, platinum, silicate and acid slag - to name a few. They may be used to make crucibles for smelting of precious and other metals, heat resistant enamel, refractory pipe, glass; induction melting crucibles for special steel, smelting and refining.
Zirconia (ZrO2) crucibles are great refractory and insulating materials. They have a clean melt at temperatures above 1900°C and above and are specially manufactured for melting superalloys and precious metals. They also have excellent chemical inertness, superior thermal shock resistance to temperatures reaching up to 2200°C, and good corrosion resistance to acids and alkalis.
