Zirconium Oxide Nanofibers Description
Nanometer-sized zirconium oxide (ZrO2) fibers with diameters about 200 μm have been synthesized by calcination of the zirconium oxide/poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc) composite nanofibres prepared by sol-gel processing and electrospinning technique.
Zirconium oxide nanofibers, a kind of one-dimensional (1D) inorganic metal oxides, are arguably one of the most fascinating materials owing to the unique mechanical and high-temperature resistance, which are widely applied in insulation, filtration, enhancement component for ceramics, solar cells, batteries, and catalysts. Due to a combination of unique properties such as superior refractoriness, good mechanical strength, high ionic conductivity, low thermal conductivity, high thermal expansion coefficient and excellent corrosion resistance, zirconium oxide nanofibers are in greater demand.
