Metallurgical Grade Tantalum Powder Description
Tantalum powder has both high density and excellent thermal & electrical conductivity properties. It can be used in optics and electronics because it has the fourth-highest melting temperature of all metals. It is also more resistant to fatigue than glass or graphic systems. High purity Tantalum powder is made in small grains and can also be used to make a tantalum sputtering target. Tantalum metal owder is good for many applications in optics and electronics because it has special properties.
SSC produces high purity tantalum powder with the smallest possible average grain size for use in preparation of pressed and bonded sputtering targets and in Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) processes. Powders are good for application that needs a lot of surface area, like water treatment or fuel cell and solar applications. Nanoparticles have very large surfaces. Our standard powder particle sizes are - 325 mesh, - 100 mesh, 10-50 microns, and submicron ( 1 micron) We can make many materials in the nanoscale range.
We also make tantalum in rod, ingot, pieces, pellets, disc, granules, wire, and as compounds, such as oxide. Other shapes are available by request.
