Features

Moly TZM is a molybdenum alloy that has titanium, zirconium and carbon. This material is strong and can withstand high temperatures. It also resists corrosion and stays warm. Moly TZM is used in many different things like airplanes, defense, and electronics. It's very strong.

Features:

  • High melting point of 2,623°C (4,753°F)

  • High strength at high temperatures

  • Excellent corrosion resistance

  • Good thermal conductivity

  • Low thermal expansion coefficient

Grades:

Moly TZM is available in several grades, including TZM-364, TZM-365, and TZM-366. These grades vary in chemical composition and mechanical properties.

  • TZM-364: This grade is a type of metal that has 0.50% titanium, 0.08% zirconium, and 0.03% carbon in it. Its strength is 900-1000 MPa and its yield strength is 780-880 MPA. TZM-364 is commonly used in aerospace and defense applications, such as rocket nozzles and heat shields.

  • TZM-365: This grade has 0.50% titanium, 0.08% zirconium, and 0.5% carbon. The tensile strength is 930-1030 MPa and the yield strength is 810-910 MPa. TZM-365 is usually used in electronic applications, such as electrical contacts and heat sinks.

  • TZM-366: This grade is made up of 0.50% titanium, 0.08% zirconium, and 0.01% carbon. It has a tensile strength of 970-1070 MPA and a yield strength of 860-960 MPA. TZM-366 is used in glass making for things like electrodes and furnace parts.

Forms:

Moly TZM is available in bars, sheets, plates, and wire.

  • Bars/Rods: Moly TZM bars or rods are available in diameters of 0.125 inches to 4 inches (3.175 mm to 101.6 mm) The bars can be different sizes, but they are usually 12 feet (3.66 meters) or 14 feet (4.27 meters) The metal bars are used in things that need to be very hot, like furnace parts and rocket nozzles.

  • Sheets/Plates: Moly TZM sheets and plates come in different thicknesses, from 0.020 inches to 1 inch (0.51 mm to 25.4 mm) Standard sizes are 12 inches by 12 inches (304.8 mm by 304.8 mm) and 24 inches by 24 inches (609.6 mm by 609.6 mm) Moly TZM plates and sheets are used in aerospace, defense, and chemical processing.

  • Wire: Moly TZM wire is usually available in diameters of 0.005 inches to 0.250 inches (0.127mm to 6.35mm) You can get the wire straight or on spools. Moly TZM wire is used for electrical and electronic things like contacts and electrodes.

Production Method:

Moly TZM is made by powder metallurgical or arc melting techniques. The metal is made into the shape you want, like bars or sheets, by forging, rolling, or extruding.

Applications & Related Industries:

Moly TZM can be used in many different industries.

  • Aerospace and defense: Moly TZM is used in aircraft and missile components as well as rocket nozzles and heat shield.

  • Electronics: Moly TZM is used for electrical connections and heat sinks for electronic devices.

  • Glass manufacturing: Moly TZM is used in the production of glass for its excellent thermal stability and resistance to corrosion.

  • Medical equipment: Moly TZM is used in medical devices like x-ray tubes and radiation shields.

Health & Safety Information:

Most people think Moly TZM is safe to handle and use. But it can be harmful if you eat or breathe in a lot. It's a good idea to wear protective gear like gloves and masks when handling moly TZM. It's important to follow proper storage and handling rules to avoid accidental spills or exposure.
