Tungsten Bar Description
Pure tungsten blanks, which are made from tungsten powder by powder metallurgy, are the raw products to process tungsten bars. The purity is usually ≥99.95%.
According to the different cross-section shapes, tungsten bars can be divided into round tungsten bars, rectangular tungsten bars, square tungsten bars, hexagonal tungsten bars and so on. Pure tungsten could be worked by forging, drawing, extruding and rolling. Tungsten bar is very stable. It does not react with air, water, HCl or sulfuric acid in normal atmospheric temperature. When it is heated to 80~100℃, it will weakly react with acid. Tungsten bar is easy oxidized under oxygen atmosphere.
Tungsten bar may be purchased from SSC in bulk or small quantity.
The tungsten bars with the purity of 99.999% are mainly used as materials for high standard bearing steels, automobiles, high-speed railways, high precision equipment, and high-tech weapons. The tungsten bars with the purity of 99.99% are mainly used in alloy tool steel, high-quality clean steel, and special high-performance steel, etc. The tungsten bars with a purity of 99.95% are used as raw materials for special steel and steel wire. And it is also widely applied in the high-temperature furnace, vacuum furnace, and sapphire crystal furnace. Tungsten bar is also used to make guns, artillery rockets, satellite airplanes, and ships.
