Iridium Sheet and Plate Description

Iridium is a precious, silver-white,hard and brittle metal. It becomes ductile and can be worked at a white heat from 1,200℃ to 1,500℃

Iridium is a precious metal known for its silver-white luster, hardness, and brittleness. Iridium is a good example of durability and strength. It can be heated to temperatures of 1,200°C to 1,500°C (2,200°F to 2,700°F), making it malleable and workable. Iridium is one of the densest substances on Earth and shows solidity and stability.

Iridium is very strong and can resist chemicals. It doesn't dissolve in acids and doesn't react with water. But it can be broken down in concentrated hydrochloric acid when sodium perchlorate is present, usually at temperatures of 125°C and 150°C (257°F and 302°F)

These alloys meet the strict ASTM B684 specification, which makes them chemically stable like platinum while making them harder for better performance in demanding applications.
