Indium Granules Description
Indium granules are a great example of how metal can be made in different ways. They show how special this metal can be. With a melting point that is higher than sodium, but lower than lithium and tin, indium is at the top of the periodic table and shares chemical similarities with gallium and thallium.
Indium is a type of metal called post-transition metal. It has a shiny white color and is very flexible. With a Mohs hardness of 1.2, it yields to the gentlest pressure and leaves an indelible mark on paper.
Even though indium doesn't play a role in biological processes, its compounds can be toxic, especially when they get into the bloodstream. Inhalation is the most common way to get exposure to indium compounds.
