Haynes 188 Alloy Plate Description
The HAYNES 188 Alloy is a very strong and resistant alloy made of cobalt. It can withstand temperatures up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit (1093 degrees Celsius) well. Chromium and lanthanum make a tough and protective scale that can do really well in tough places. This metal has good resistance to sulfidation and is very strong, even when heated up for a long time.
This alloy is not magnetic and can withstand high temperatures up to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit (982 degrees Celsius). It can also resist oxidation up to 2100 degrees Fahrenheit (1149 degrees Celsius) It can handle high temperatures for a long time and is very resistant to oxidation, spalling, and corrosion. It does this by adding chromium and small amounts of lanthanum. Lanthanum makes an oxide scale at high temperatures. Also, this material stays flexible even when it's cold, but it's stronger.
