Dichromium Boride Description

Dichromium boride is a silver-grey powder with the chemical formula of Cr2B. It has high hardness and good wear resistance. It is resistant to high-temperature oxidation, corrosion, and thermal shock below 1300°C.

Borides are hard, high-melting materials with metal-like conductivity. They are stable to nonoxidizing acids but break down in strong oxidizing agents and strong alkalis.

Borides are used in semiconductors, superconductors, diamagnetic, paramagnetic, ferromagnetic, anti-ferromagnetic, turbine blades, and rocket nozzles. Borides are superconductive and ultra-incompressible.
